Environment, travel, digital.
I’m Ingrid, from Cape Town, South Africa. I currently live in Johannesburg, South Africa. In 2013, I backpacked through South America. I quit my job, sold all my stuff (including the trombone and the car), and in January I said goodbye to 12 years of life in an admittedly magic city, with only one known fact: my first stop is Sao Paulo. (Okay, two known facts. I’d be here in April.)
There were many reasons for this trip. These reasons will become apparent as I blog. The overriding motivation, though, is a clear vision of the future that does not have room for the conventional, the expected, the race, or the past.
I went from school to university and straight into a solid career in media, but on the eve of my 30th birthday I’m at the right place, and it’s the right time, to throw caution to the wind. It feels more like a becoming than an unravelling, but I’m sure both and more will happen many times over the next 14 months.
